Job Description

A brilliant opportunity to join a leading supplier to the construction trade, for a Lead Hand, at their busy Bristol site.

The successful applicant will have responsibility for staff overseeing the smooth running of the operations day to day. You will be ensuring production targets are met, while adhering to rigorous Health & Safety guidelines. You will organise your team according to skills to meet production targets within desired timescales and within product specification, minimising waste.

H&S is paramount, and you will lead by example, to drive a positive and safe working environment. Working effectively, in time and budget, you will also ensure your team achieves the high standards in quality that’s expected.

By managing and motivating your team, you will ensure targets are met, taking part and running operational meetings and promoting company policy and guidelines.

Day to day you will ensure that:

• The team works effectively and efficiently with leading hand colleagues to ensure both individual responsibilities and team objectives are met.
• You manage your team and equipment efficiently to ensure daily production targets are met.
• That the plant within your area of responsibility is up to standard and in good clean condition.
• You will inform the line manager of resource deficit or issues that affect safety or production targets.
• Report any underperformance of individuals or malfunction of plant to your line manager.

You will have a proven track record within a similar appointment, from within the construction or related sectors. Your background will demonstrate people leading skills, which will allow you to provide support to the operatives under your management,  to ensure strong leadership of the team while displaying and promoting a positive working attitude. Your leadership and guidance will ensure a safe working environment while making sure the site runs efficiently. Excellent communications skills are a must as well.
