Financial Accountant

Job Description

We’re seeking a qualified financial accountant to join a Financial Accounts team on a 12-month fixed term contract. 

This role would suit an ambitious newly qualified ACA/ACCA (or passed finalist) looking for a unique opportunity to advance their financial accounting career in a leading FTSE 100 organisation in commerce. This person will assist and lead the timely and accurate delivery of the Group’s financial position with life/insurance accounting experience being desirable but not a pre-requisite.  This is initially a 12-month FTC but with the possibility to be extended further should circumstances require it. What you’ll be doing:

• Support members of the Financial Reporting team as required.
• Preparation of complex working papers.
• Post financial journals as required.
• Manage intercompany settlements.
• Manage preparation and delivery of relevant management accounts.
• Prepare and understand financial controls.
• Preparation of statutory accounts.
• Manage production of regulatory returns (where applicable).
• Identify efficiencies in processes and assist with implementing change.
• Support relevant consolidation journals.
• Support ad-hoc projects and investigations as required.
